Teaching thinking - for lifelong learning.
Sweet Art Emporium in Palmyra, VACheck the website - link above - for when I am teaching.
Working with adults - - DRY-POINT PRINTMAKING - Exposure and experience using an etching press to create a hand-inked and printed image. After 'scratching' an image on plexiglass plate, students ink the plate, polish the surface so ink only remains in the grooves, and use an etching press to apply pressure to transfer the ink to a cotton rag paper. - CERAMICS WHEEL THROWING - 4-week sessions for the artist wanting a refresher, and 8-week sessions for newbies. Several instructors are teaching ceramics - both 'on the wheel' and 'hand building'. Check the schedule on the Website. - NEEDLE FELTING - - A two-hour class - a 4"x4" beautiful image. - NEW Classes in Monoprinting coming in the future. |
Retired from a Secondary Art Classroom - Still enjoying the connections with students - here are just a few examples from class.
Arts Major Classes
Students enroll in a variety of general Arts major classes from Art I through Art III. It is critical to work in both two and three dimensions as we prepare studentes for life in a 3-D design world. Using live models and 'real' objects is an important component in learning to 'see' in order to design and create.
Developing skills with many materials provides students the groundwork to express and create unique and meaningful artwork.
